CRUIZERADAR: MIKE MUNGU

Mike Mungu is an African R&B artiste from Kampala, Uganda. He started doing music in 2020 and released his first single at the end of 2022 titled, Mine.

He says that he grew up surrounded by music, he was a choir leader in school and he also got to learn some instruments and musical reading from his elder brother. He also notes that he was always listening to music which led to him understanding the art of music production.

Mike actually told us the he was struggling production space and money as music a very expensive career to chase and as he went for a show at The Bistro he met a one Ebrahim Soulo who offered to produce his first ever single.

Mike also told us that his musical style is mostly built around RnB and Soul because it allows him to express himself. Though overtime he's managed to evolve and diversify into other genres like Afrobeat & Dancehall.

Some of his musical influences are Giveon, Bien, Mike Kayihura, Raye & Justin Bieber. And he informed us that to him, they've not only defined his musical journey but also enabled him shape his own paths out of it & understand music. He also shared with us EXCLUSIVE information that he has his first studio album in the works which kicks off with his first single of this year titled, YOUR BODY.
